Reporting Unit Rollups

Reporting Unit Rollups lists each reporting unit rollupClosed currently in General Ledger Manager, and enables administratorsClosed to manage them and to create new ones. If the trial balances that you will be harmonizing have reporting units that are smaller than entities, then you will want to create and apply reporting unit rollup maps to roll them up underneath the appropriate entities in the creation of a master trial balance.

How a Reporting Unit Rollup is Used

By default, General Ledger Manager maps known reporting units in trial balance files selected for master trial balance creation as entities in the resulting master trial balance. To override this default, you must select a reporting unit rollup map in Create Master Trial Balance. The rollup map you select will cause the known reporting units to rollup under entities in accordance with the map. Only those reporting unit rollups will be available for selection whose year is the same as the account map year selected.

How Reporting Unit Rollups is Sorted

The reporting unit rollups are sorted in descending order by most recent year by default. You can click the Most Recent Year column heading to toggle the list between descending and ascending order. No other sorts may be done on this list.

Data Displayed in Reporting Unit Rollups

The rollup name, the year for which it was created, and the source of the entities to which the reporting units in the rollup are mapped appear for each rollup in the list.

Functions Available in Reporting Unit Rollups

In addition to viewing and searching the list of rollups, you can do all of the following from the list view:

  1. Clicking Create a reporting unit rollup.
  2. Defining the properties of the rollup.
  3. Mapping the reporting units to entities in the way that you want them to be rolled up when the master trial balance is created.

Each time you create a reporting unit rollup, General Ledger Manager returns you to the list view where you can see the new rollup in the list.

For more information on controlling the list view, see Working with the Interface.
